Rondo is a mobile banking application whose main aim is to build an efficient solution to the user’s banking experience whereby users can pay bills, deposit cheques, apply for loans amidst others..
❝The goal
- To understand the general attitude of the next billion users towards the use of mobile banking apps.
- To investigate their experience using the apps.
- To understand how best to create a platform that eases remote banking process.
- To understand how best to create a platform that helps manage financial services remotely.
User interview
To gain insight of my users painpoint, frustrations and needs, I conducted qualitative research(user interview) with 7 participant, I interviewed 3 males and 5 females to gain more insight on the needs & pain points,It was quite an impactful session as i didn’t have much knowledge.
❝Empathize
This was the first step to creating a solution to the identified problem; it involved seeing the problem from the user’s point of view and trying to understand their feelings, pains and needs as it concerns the circumstance or situation identified in the problem statement. Questions like what the users might be feeling, what actions or words indicate the feeling and are used to describe such feelings were put into consideration and this led to carrying out a survey of our target users and the result of our research are shown on the empathy map. A survey questionnaire using Google form was distributed to 24 participants (target users) and the outcome is as presented below:
❝Test
At this stage we tried out our solutions to see if they respond by testing the prototype. Although it’s theoretically the final stage, Design thinking is iterative. Results from this stage was used to redefine our problem statement, make alterations and refine our product. This is to find or rule out solutions that are not needed.
❝Conclusion
During this project I learnt that research plays a key role in ensure your business goals aligns with user needs and effective ideation & collaboration can help in the success of any project To help me understand how well to design the best solutions for the users during this project, I had to do a lot of learnings about how to use the right charts and elements to represent data and information appropriately in the most understandable and insightful manner for users to gain insights and perform different activities on the dashboard.
